Max-Eyth-Schule Germany

The Max-Eyth-Schule in Alsfeld, Hessia, Germany

The Max-Eyth-Schule is a very diverse vocational school with 9 different school types in 13 vocational fields with a variety of focuses. Approximately 2.000 students attend this school.

Our educational opportunities are very diverse. The Vogelsbergkreis is a rural region lacking in infrastructure, so from the early 1980s there has been a shortage of apprenticeship positions. We have answered that by offering a great variety of full-time vocational school types.

"Learning for Europe" is a real task for us. The school's European profile offers education by European standards. Intercultural education and the incorporation of the European dimension as a part of a tolerant society are two basic pillars for our lessons.

The motto "To us, school is more than lessons." means that the Max-Eyth-Schule creates a positive learning environment, promoting a high social competence, understanding learning and teaching as a democratic process and being ecologically oriented. We have a surrounding which is characterised by solidarity, faith, tolerance and commitment. It is one of our objectives that both teachers and students feel good working together, that they can develop their own interests and that they can try personal ways of action. That's how the students are prepared for life-long-learning.

Beeing a Hessian Certified European School, we promote intercultural learning processes, enabling young people to find their own identities and to develop tolerance by meeting new cultures. We are creating open spaces where language diversity, scientific and vocational knowledge are developed into intercultural competences by social learning.
